My name is David-Kingsley Kendel and this is Kendel’s Messiah, my personal blog and testimony as a Seventh-day Adventist Christian. I like to immerse myself in the Bible and to explore various philosophical, existential, and social topics from a theological standpoint.
As in Jesus’ day, religious institutions too often monopolize faith and exploit and misrepresent God for the sake of power and control, causing harm, cynicism, and the loss of faith and meaning for many people. As a gay man, I’ve had my own fair share of existential disappointment and pain. I want to share the purpose and meaning that I’ve found in studying the Bible and putting my faith in Jesus rather than any religious institution.
I have an academic background in theology, sociology, and music, and I’m currently working as a teacher in Oslo, Norway. I love making music, working out, game nights, and salty liquorice!
I’m passionate about honest and respectful conversations about life and I’d love to hear from you, too. Feel free to share your own thoughts and journey with me on this platform.
I hope to see you around!
David
